BRING RecyclingWe're located in:
Eugene, Oregon Our website: www.bringrecycling.org What we work to achieve: BRING works to create a new paradigm for sustainable living—the most important challenge of our generation. We help our community reduce waste and find smart alternatives to wasteful consumption. We approach our work with hope and good cheer. We believe it’s possible to “live well without waste.” At BRING, you’ll discover a huge selection of used building materials, providing low-cost resources for home repair, remodels, gardening, and creative projects of all kinds. But it’s more than a place to find great used stuff—it's a community treasure, with examples of green building and renewable energy to educate and inspire. Be sure to visit our Garden of Earthly Delights, a fun learning and gathering place for school kids, adults, and community organizations. Proceeds from our retail store help fund our education programs, including classroom presentations and field trips to the landfill, dump, and BRING—for a firsthand look at where all our “stuff” ends up. We help local businesses trim waste and save money through our RE:think Business program. We demonstrate “the art of sustainable living” on our annual BRING Home and Garden Tour. And we provide information on how to reuse or recycle just about everything. Who we serve: BRING serves 55,000 customers each year at our used building materials store, including homeowners, landlords, renters, farmers, business owners, students, teachers, artists, and do-it-yourselfers from all over Lane County—many with modest means. We teach 6,000 school children each year through classroom programs and field trips, and we provide learning and volunteer opportunities for high school, LCC, and UO students, community groups, and businesses. More than 80 local businesses participate in our RE:think Business program Our mission statement: Helping people understand how the stuff we use shapes the planet we share.
